About our founders
Zubeida zwavel
Mrs Zwavel saw that there was a gap in understanding what sustainability meant to companies and organisations.
She is passionate about building sustainability literacy and incorporating tools, mechanisms and policies such as the circular economy and decarbonisation.
She started CARES to allow for smaller businesses to enter the competitive space and future-proof their operations by providing additional capacity.
Siraj Williams
A person who uses a systems approach to the development of solutions, Siraj has developed the ability to understand concepts easily.
The principles of integrity and trust are central to his professional approach. This is coupled with a natural ability and desire to transfer concepts, knowledge and skills as part of the delivery of services.
He is the co-founder and director at CARES where he has a special focus on reducing the use of natural resources and improving efficiencies across the entire manufacturing value chain.
Palesa Mothapo
Dr Palesa Mothapo experienced Scientist and Senior Research Manager with over 15 years of research experience and extensive leadership in research management, policy development, and leading strategic initiatives. Currently serving as Director: Research Support and Management at Nelson Mandela University, her expertise spans across research strategy, policy, researcher capacity development, innovation in research administration, research partnership across industry, government, and academia; and the management of multi-million-dollar research grants. She passionate about advancing research excellence and building talent pipelines to foster high-end skill development.
